Saint Lucia visa photos and the Immigration Department of the RSLPF
Non-immigrant visas for Saint Lucia are issued by the Immigration Department of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, under the Ministry of External Affairs. The same photo standard applies across tourism, business, study, and transit visas, and it also covers the Visitor’s Extension of Stay processed inside the country. Two identical prints accompany a new application; a single print is sufficient for an extension.
There is no e-visa portal and no online photo upload. Applications are filed in person or by mail at the Immigration Department in Castries or at a Saint Lucian mission abroad, including the consulates in Toronto, New York, and Washington, the embassy in Washington D.C., and the High Commission in London. The Electronic Immigration Form is an arrival declaration only and does not collect a photograph. Saint Lucia does not use VFS Global or any other third-party visa application centre for its own visa issuance.
Enforcement at the consular intake stage is strict. Photographs that show the wrong pose, the wrong attire, or that fall outside the three-month recency window are returned with the application, and prints produced in an automated photo booth are refused outright. Each photo must also be certified on the reverse by an approved guarantor, a Saint Lucia-specific step that frequently trips up first-time applicants and causes avoidable rejections.
Saint Lucia visa photo requirements at a glance

- Eyes must sit between 28 mm and 33 mm from the bottom of the photo.
- The head must be centered horizontally in the frame with a small symmetrical margin on each side.
- Both shoulders must be square to the camera and visible. Three-quarter angles or rotated torsos are not accepted.
- The full face from chin to crown must be inside the frame with proper top margin.
How recent the photo must be.
Your visa photo must have been taken within the last six months. A new photo is required sooner whenever your appearance has changed in a way that makes the old photo no longer recognizable.
You need a new photo if you’ve had…
- Facial surgery or a major change to facial structure
- A significant gain or loss of weight that visibly changes your face
- Large facial tattoos or piercings added or removed
- A gender transition that has changed your appearance
You do not need a new photo just because of…
- A new hair color
- Growing or removing a beard or moustache
- Ordinary, minor aging
- A new hairstyle that still leaves the face fully visible
Other things to know.
Saint Lucia adds several procedural requirements that catch applicants off guard.
Guarantor certification on reverse
Each photo must be certified on the back by an approved guarantor (a Doctor, Lawyer, Justice of the Peace, Minister of Religion, or Notary Public). The endorsement reads ’I certify that this is a true likeness of [Applicant Name]’ and must include the guarantor’s signature, date, and stamp. This is the single most common reason Saint Lucian visa photos are rejected.
Two prints, professionally produced
New visa applications require two identical prints; a Visitor’s Extension of Stay requires one. Automated photo booth output is explicitly rejected, so prints must come from a professional studio. The date the photo was taken must be written on the reverse.
Three-month recency window
Photos must be less than three months old at the time of submission, which is stricter than the six-month window used by most visa-issuing countries.
No e-visa, no photo upload
Saint Lucia operates no e-visa portal. The Electronic Immigration Form is an entry declaration and does not accept photo uploads. Physical prints are mailed or hand-delivered to the Immigration Department in Castries or to a Saint Lucian embassy, high commission, or consulate.

Print-quality requirements for in-person submissions.
When you submit a printed photo at a visa application centre, the paper, finish, and ink all matter. The points below cover the standards most consular missions accept.
- Print on photographic-quality paper at 300 DPI minimum.
- Use a matte or semi-gloss finish; high-gloss can produce reflections that confuse biometric scanners.
- Do not retouch, crop, or alter the photo after printing.
- Bring at least two identical prints when the submission channel calls for paper photos.
